14.02.2012. "On behalf of the Committee of the Regions, I would like to congratulate the regions Nord-Pas de Calais, Southern Denmark and Styria for receiving the EER label for the year 2013. The EER jury was impressed by these regions' innovative entrepreneurial policy strategies, path-breaking political visions and their strong commitment to contribute to the network of entrepreneurial regions in order to boost regional competitiveness, create sustainable growth and jobs and promote entrepreneurial mindsets, especially among the young generation." With these words, CoR President Mercedes Bresso will welcome representatives from the three winning regions of the 'European Entrepreneurial Region' (EER) label for the year 2013 to an award ceremony, organised within the margins of the Committee of the Regions' (CoR) plenary session tomorrow in Brussels. Pierre de Saintignon (Nord-Pas-de-Calais), Vice President in charge of Economic Development, New Technologies and Professional! Training; Lasse Krull (Southern Denmark), Chairman of the Committee for regional development; and Christian Buchmann (Styria), Provincial Minister of Economic Affairs, Europe and Culture will each be receiving on behalf of their region the award for the EER label for 2013. On this occasion, they will be given the opportunity to present their respective EER visions and objectives before the members of the CoR and the EER jury who had selected these regions at their meeting in December 2011.
